Curve ambassador, Oskar Moore takes on the infamous mixed-terrain Border Run XL in his mission to secure the fastest known time. 400km from the centre of Melbourne to the Victoria state border at Albury-Wodonga is anything but an easy ride. Many have taken on the challenge over two, three or four days. Oskar, keen to test his boundaries, sets himself a personal challenge to break 17 hours in his longest ever ride.
The original Border Run, a 240 km gravel adventure from the Melbourne GPO to Echuca, was organised by Curve on the March equinox. Since then hundreds of riders have slapped the New South Wales border sign to mark the end of their mission.
Always hunting for an extra adventure, the Curve Crew leveled-up the challenge for the September equinox with the Border Run XL. With 400 km and almost 6,000m of climbing, this is a trans-Victoria ride for anyone looking for the ultimate gravel adventure. Leaving the city behind and heading for the hills, you'll come across steep gravel climbs, flowing descents, and incredible views of the high country. It'll definitely be a ride to remember. The route, while challenging, is super accessible with plenty of resupply and accommodation options along the way. Just don't forget to slap the border sign!
