Road, gravel and bike path
Everyone loves a Spring Classics ride, so we are running a night Belgie to celebrate the end of Winter. Choose between the mini distance or add more excitement with the max distance. Both rides finish at Moondog for Pizza and refreshments.
The ride starts at Gipps Street Bridge and takes in sections of the Kew Blvd, before heading out on trails and backstreets to Heidelberg. Here you can choose to go long or take the short cut. Those doing the full loop will then continue for a lap on towards Viewbank and the Yarra Valley Parklands before a fast blast back on the bike paths along the Yarra.
This ride is mixed terrain. It is majority road, with sections on the gravel Yarra trails, some sneaky alleyways plus bike paths. Its suitable for any bike, and we encourage you to ride what you have. A gravel bike will be more comfortable, a road bike is for hellcats. Just be sure your bike has working brakes and tyres in good condition. Both ride files are below. Be aware that pedestrians share many of the bike paths, trails and tracks we use, so give way and use a bell where needed.
