Woodlands Park is just out of the city near Melbourne airport, and is home to many bandicoots, despite never being sighted.
So if you like planes, you're going to need to breathe deeply to calm yourself at the Gellibrand Hill lookout. It is the highest point in the Woodlands Park and a great spot to stop for coffee and snacks and watch the airport traffic.
This ride isn't a particularly challenging one - it is quite flat and there is nothing very technical. It is much more chilled than our other monthly rides. The appeal is finding some new riding spots in your own backyard - adventure is right under your nose! This course is suited to gravel bikes or CX bikes - but it is a Curve social ride so please bring your sense of adventure. Only bring a road bike if you are an uncontrollable hellcat.
Expect mostly gravel tracks, bike paths and a little bit of single track. There are a couple of short hike-a-bike sections in the final few km before Pentridge where the course ends. Be careful here - FALL LEFT. You'll see what I mean when you're there!
Brewdog Brewery is a huge beer hall, and has room to chain bikes up out front.
There are plenty of resupply and water points along the way out to Woodlands too.
