The Evolution Of The Belgie

The AIR Belgie 3D is the pinnacle of Curve's much loved Belgie road bike range. This high-end road bike with hybrid titanium / carbon construction is bonded, finished and painted in Australia.

While the AIR Belgie 3D is a rolling work of art, like all Curve bikes, it is built to be ridden. Designed with stiffness, performance and durability in mind, a less robust earlier prototype even passed EFBE's daunting test regime. This bike will handle serious endurance or race missions.

The elegant internal routing execution uses the Columbus Trittico system which allows hidden hoses without an oversized headtube. Stunning 3D printed head tube and details adorn the frame, from the refined dropout design to the power pyramid bottom bracket assembly.

  • Stunning Power Transfer Without Compromising Comfort

    The AIR Belgie 3D combines the stiffness of carbon and comfort of titanium to create a new standard for high end road bikes in the Curve range.

    The backbone of each AIR Belgie 3D frameset is a 3Al - 2.5V Grade 9 aerospace grade titanium tube set, optimal for bicycle frames. Our tubeset is carefully chosen to balance of stiffness, compliance, and durability. Titanium absorbs road noise without compromising on performance meaning you'll finish longer rides without feeling battered.

    The hybrid carbon-titanium construction is not purely for aesthetics. The phenomenally strong double-lap carbon-titanium bond at the 3D printed power-pyramid bottom bracket assembly, mean improved stiffness and and a leap forward in power transfer.

  • 3D Printed Head Tube

    The completely 3D printed head tube gives a sleek design to the front end with invisible transitions to the top and down tubes.

    With the clean minimal aesthetic of the internal cable routing system this is as refined as Ti race bikes can get!

  • Finished in Australia

    All AIR Belgie 3D frames are bonded and finished by Curve in Melbourne, Australia. AIR artwork, painting and cosmetic finishing are completed by hand within Curve’s new paint facility using high-end automotive products. This is part of Curve's mission to establish key elements of our manufacturing process in Australia where we can control, develop and refine new processes in-house.

    Fabrication of the handmade titanium frame, carbon tubes and 3D-printed titanium elements remains with our trusted and established partners in China.

  • Internal Routing

    The clean minimal aesthetic of hidden hoses and cables is perfectly suited to titanium bikes and it is finally available on select Curve models through our partnership with Columbus.

    The cleverly engineered Columbus Trittico cockpit system, allows fully internal routing through our sleek tapered headtube. It's the most elegant hidden cable and hose execution we have seen on a metal bike without significant customisation.

    Trittico is the new family of carbon fiber bicycle cockpit components designed by Columbus. All Trittico components are characterized by state-of-the-art performance, weight, reliability and a stunning yet minimalist aesthetic, perfectly suited to finish a clean internally routed bike.

  • High Resolution 3D Printing

    Our 3D-printed titanium frame components include sub-millimeter bond-gap control features. While such fine details are invisible on our finished frames, they result in class leading bond strengths.

    Selective use of 3D printing has been used throughout the AIR Belgie 3D. The 3D-printed SRAM UDH-compatible dropouts result in an elegant silhouette while shave grams. A 3D-printed titanium front derailleur clamp turns flimsy front shifting into a precise and definite movement. A 3D-printed guide routes the rear brake hose through neatly the bottom bracket.

    An optional finishing touch is Curve's AIR road seat post. This hybrid carbon / titanium post, stunningly finished with a 3D-printed titanium topper, results in the smoothest possible ride quality.

  • Made to Order

    The Curve AIR Belgie 3D is made to order with a lead time of six months. While we can simply supply a frameset and cockpit bundle, please contact us so that we can work together on complete build options. We love nothing more than working closely with each customer to construct the ultimate bike just for them.

    Please also get in touch to confirm your bike fit details. We make sure we spend the necessary time working with each customer to ensure the best possible fit. If you have existing bike fit data, we will carefully work through the detail to determine best size option for you and understand any particular bike fit constraints crucial to your comfort and performance.
