FAQs

Check HERE for further info regarding custom paint, bike set up and more.

I want to attach bags. What will it do to the frame finish?

Curve's steel frames are finished with high-quality and durable paint, but the paint is not unaffected by rubbing from bike bags or rock strikes etc.

If you want to keep your paint looking pristine, we recommend that you use some kind of protective film - especially in the high-wear areas where bag straps are in direct contact with the frame.

Stock Ti frames are not painted, but bag rub will affect the surface finish. The lighter, brushed, finish can be refreshed using a fine abrasive pad, but the darker blasted finish can only be refinished by media blasting. To keep your Ti frame looking pristine, we recommend using protective film.

I want to get a custom frame bag made. Can you give me the frame dimensions? Of course! Have a look at our bagmaker page HERE where you can download full-scale PDFs showing the internal dimensions of all our frame models.

Our favourite steel gravel bike is back with a new look. Introducing the mesmerising Ninja Mermaid colourway. This extraordinary hue is the ultimate chameleon, inspired by the depths of the ocean and the magic of legendary ninjas and mermaids.

Italian Steel -
The main frame triangle is comprised of Italian-made double-butted Columbus Zona  tubing. Zona allows for the ideal compromise between weight, strength and life of the frame.

Two Bikes In One -
The GXR's carbon fork, the Ride 400, has clearance for wheel options based on your riding style. For example, Kevin can run either 700c wheels with 32–45 mm tyres, best suited for commuting, gravel, and cyclocross, or if you’re looking to tackle some rougher terrain with more traction, use 650b (27.5”) wheels fitted with 1.8–2.2” tyres. Curve has the above wheel options in both carbon and aluminium available.

Big Tyre Clearance -
The custom 4130 steel yoke design allows Kevin to run wide gravel tyres in two wheel sizes without tyre rub. Up to 45mm for 700c, and around 2.2"/55mm for 27.5"/650b. Clearance may vary depending on your choice of tyre tread.

Ready For Adventure -
Kevin comes equipped with rear rack mounts, fender mounts, and 3 x bidon mounts; and can run either a 1x or 2x* drivetrain. Kevin is ready for light single or multi-day bikepacking adventures thanks to generous tyre clearance and balanced geometry that produces a stable riding platform.

Steel and carbon - a smile inducing sparkling ninja mermaid combination

my Kevin of Steel has landed and I just wanted to let you, the Kev-curious, know it is freaking awesome! I've had carbon road bikes and alloy city bikes recently and can attest that what they say about steel is real - buttery smooth! I added the dirt hoops last week after a couple of weeks rolling on loaner alloy rims and immediately noticed the faster pickup on the hills when I stand up to stomp on the pedals. Looking forward to summer and attacking a few gravel events and a cheeky brevet or two!

thanks again Curve team for creating my new forever bike!
